Our traveling ministry is called Jesus Loves You camp, a free kitchen that sets up in national forests at Rainbow Gatherings.  We camp out for a couple of weeks at various forests during any given year so that we can build relationships and share the love of Jesus with those who come through.

Rainbows are very nomadic, hitch hiking all over the country, or jumping trains, riding around in old VW's or school buses.  Some of the kids spend all year camping in the woods, emerging only long enough to follow jam bands like the remainder of The Grateful Dead and Widespread Panic around the country.  This eclectic group of people consists of counter culture groups (gutter punks, hippies, deadheads, runaways, etc) and various religious groups (new agers, Hare Krishnas, Buddhists, etc). Most of them have been rejected by mainstream society and survive on the waste of America.  Many of them are on a journey, looking for acceptance and the truth, and we want to be there to love them and point them to Jesus.

The following is an excert from an email sent by Chuck and Linda Perry of Bread of Life ministry. We loved the heart of this message and wanted to share it with you.

A few important reminders:
The Rainbow Family is searching for and trying to create a place of Love, Joy, Peace, Kindness, Safety, Acceptance of Diversity, Family, Community, Freedom, Rejoicing in the natural environment, Healing for body & soul, Pursuit of spirituality, truths and maybe Truth, alternative culture and lifestyle, Creativity, Expressions of Beauty, Mentoring in life skills and holistic lifestyle, interchanging of ideas and wisdom, and everything that "Eternity has placed in their hearts".
1. Put away personal agendas and learn to fall in love and flow with everyone in our camp, picking up part of the work load and encouraging each other.  (I want to add here that this is about serving others together, NOT a time to focus on getting our personal needs met or having our identity, gifts & callings affirmed.  We will learn to deal with personal conflicts in Humility & Love, but it's really about focusing on Him and His Heart for others.)
2. Be willing to Submit to those in authority in the Kitchen, who have born the brunt of the battle for many years and learned much that is useful.  Be Teachable.
3. No Arguing in the Kitchen, whether doctrine, philosophy, eschatology, conspiracy theories, or dealing with quarrelsome people.  Learn to Lovingly Serve in the face of opposition.
4. No Drug or Alcohol use while part of the Kitchen at the Gathering. No pets please.
5. Respect & Honor Others: Beliefs, property, space, camps, etc.  We are in someone else's home, culture, family.  Don't lay a trip on people.  Build relationship through Love and share the LOVE that is coursing through you because of Jesus.  Be real.  We are not playing church, religion, or "trying to witness".  We are learning to BE THE BODY OF CHRIST, His Church, through intimacy with Him, relationship with each other, and Loving Service.
6. Go 2 by 2 when you go out to walk around the Gathering for evangelism, intercession or fun.  Be wise.
7. "Preach the Gospel at ALL times; when necessary use words."
We love you all.  Let us know if you are planning to attend.  We need builders, haulers, diggers, musicians, cooks, servers & servants, healers, lovers, friends, clever inventors, prophetic people, dream interpreters, treasure hunters, intercessors, fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, lovers of children, peace makers, visionaries, organizers, worshippers, artists, story tellers, teachers, compassionate listeners, dish washers, outhouse cleaners, encouragers, dancers, singers, fire builders and fire tenders, photographers, happy people and joy spreaders, atmosphere shifters, and a few others.
Secondly, Our Basic Guidelines are still important.  We are a family of Believers from many different communities who gather together with the goal and calling to BE the Body of Christ at the Rainbow Gatherings.  Our primary function is to HONOR & SERVE others; spiritually, emotionally, physically.  We welcome others to join us, and ask that we all follow these Basic Guidelines:
